David Cunha

David Cunha is an exceptional athlete who inspires those around him. David has been a varsity runner for the cross-country team since his freshman year. He has served as the captain for the team for the past two years. He can take charge in a group setting, encourage others, and keep everyone on task. David is compassionate and builds strong personal relationships with his peers. His ability to connect and inspire is a quality few possess. The team looks to David for motivation and guidance each day.

David is a dedicated runner and is always looking for ways to push himself and grow. David is an active member of the Sussex County Technical School National Honors Society, volunteers at his local church, and has participated in over 40 hours of volunteering and fundraising for his local community. Currently, David has a 4.1983 GPA.  

As a freshman, his dedication and hard work earned him the award of Most Improved. In 2021, the boy's team won the Sportsmanship Award. As a sophomore, David became the leading varsity runner for the boy's team. At the end of his sophomore year, he was awarded the title of MVP. During David’s junior and senior years, he was also granted the MVP Award.  David has been awarded the titles of 1st Team All-Conference and the All-Academic his sophomore, junior, and senior years. With his guidance, the boys’ team won the 2023 Divisional Championship. In 2024, the Boy's Team was once again awarded the Sportsmanship Award under David's leadership.
