Program at a Glance
Commercial Art exposes students to diversified career opportunities within the field of visual arts. Project development from concept through completion is a major component of this program. Students are encouraged to develop technical and artistic skills, and are presented with an array of foundational skill sets in areas such as: design, drawing, painting, and illustration of three-dimensional design, fashion design, graphic design, digital arts and design, photography, layout, exhibition art and portfolio development. 

What You Will Learn
Commercial Art students will learn studio safety, digital, traditional, and booklet style portfolio presentation, industry expectations, drawing and sketching, current industry software, and marketing and advertising. Students will be taught how to develop technical and artistic skills, abilities and confidence and commitment to pursue advanced levels of training necessary for career placement or ongoing education.

Career Pathways
Commercial Art students may pursue careers as package designers, fashion and accessory designers, special effects artists, digital animators, toy designers, publication illustrators, merchandisers, interior designs, product designer, educators, art therapist, or social media designers.
